Governors

Charlie Clews, Chair and Parent Governor

I’m passionate about the school environment and have lots of professional experience working designing educational landscapes at all levels.

As a director of a small company, I have a range of skills running a business and as a designer and project manager, problem-solving and working as a team come as second nature.

My wife and I currently have two boys at the school so have a busy family life and lots of experiences to draw on. We feel fortunate to have landed here in such a thriving community. I see the tight relationship between the school and the village as of paramount importance and will always look for ways to strengthen the bond.

Sarah Harston, Vice Chair and Community Governor

I became a Governor at Leafield School in 2020.  I live in Leafield village and my youngest child attend the school.

My background is in Human Resources. In my early career I worked as a management consultant, assisting companies with remuneration of employees. I then worked in-house for large global corporate organisations, developing reward strategies, HR policy and employee relations.

Since leaving my HR career in 2018 I have been retraining in horticulture. I now work in Garden Design.

I am extremely proud to have the opportunity to be a Governor.  I'm sure that, as a team, we will continue to help to improve an already successful school.

Ellie Hollings, Community Governor

I joined the Leafield Governing Body as a Community Governor in September 2017, around the time that I moved to the village. I am the link Governor for Safeguarding. As a primary school teacher who has worked in Early Years and Key Stage 1 for the past 11 years, I bring experience, enthusiasm and knowledge of primary education to the board. When not at work, I enjoy horse riding and exploring the footpaths around Leafield with my dachshund puppy, Bruno!

Jeremy Russ, Community Governor

I moved back to Leafield in 2015 and joined the Governing Body in mid 2020 as a Community Governor. I support the finance and pay committees. I am interested in ensuring that children go to school in an environment that is safe and supportive whilst encouraging confidence and independent thought.

Janey Patterson, Foundation Governor

A Christian and a professional photographer for over 30 years, and living in Leafield for 19 of those. My passions include singing, ceramics, drama and my family. I am currently developing a series of clay workshops/retreat days for all ages. I became a Governor in September 2020.
